General Montgomery

General Bernard Montgomery (Born: November 17th, 1887 in London.)

Served in World War I in France and was shot in the chest.

During World War II he was the leader of the British Expeditionary Force and then retreated back to Britain.

In charge of the Eighth Army in Egypt and defeated Erwin Rommel

He and the Eighth Army attacked George Stumme and the Afrika Corps on October 23rd, 1942.

Erwin Rommel came back from Austria and made a counter attack against the Eighth Army.

Montgomery had another counter attack on November 1st, 1942.

Rommel surrendered 3 days later but Hitler still had the Afrika Corps fight.

Montgomery took Italian and Afrika Corps as prisoners.

Rommel backed into Libya.

Eisenhower then sandwiched Rommel in the middle of Libya.

Axis Powers surrendered in Africa on May 11th, 1943.

Montgomery invaded Sicily with the help of U.S. General George S. Patton.

Montgomery was the head of the British on D-Day.

Lost in a battle with Germans by trying to capture a bridge over the Rhine River in Operation market Garden.
